Pivoting relationship types is not the right approach

Opponent: Pivoting has been been proposed by Biskup in order to factor out common parts of the application . Unfortunately, in this case we have to known constraints which are hard to capture at design time.

Proponent: Database design aims in developing a structuring of the database which allows to run the database application almost optimally. If constraints in the reality are too complex then the maintenance of data integrity may become a nightmare. In this case we should search for a simple structuring which allows development of simple maintenance functions. And pivoting is one approach which targets simple maintenance.
